NRG Wireless faced a formidable task at Afronation: delivering reliable and high-speed internet connectivity in a dynamic event setting. The festival, bustling with numerous companies, musicians, and food vendors, was set up in temporary structures where maintaining consistent connectivity was crucial. The challenge was amplified by the high user density, with a multitude of participants relying on the network simultaneously. Furthermore, the event environment, filled with a large array of electronic devices, posed a significant risk of signal interference, adding complexity to our mission of providing seamless internet access.

The Solution by NRG Wireless

In response to the connectivity challenges at Afronation 2022, NRG Wireless developed and executed a comprehensive networking strategy. Our team deployed fiber optic and Cat6 cabling to ensure high data transfer rates and network stability. We chose top-of-the-line switches from renowned brands like Mikrotik, Engenius, and Cisco, enabling us to route data efficiently and maintain a consistently reliable network connection. Understanding the need for extensive coverage, we strategically placed advanced access points, such as Ligowave and Toto Link AP-One AX, to deliver widespread network access using both 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequencies. Additionally, Ligo Wave outdoor radios were utilized to ensure detailed coverage across every section of the venue. To effectively manage the high user density, multiple access points were carefully positioned to distribute the user load evenly. Moreover, our team conducted meticulous frequency planning and channel optimization to mitigate signal interference, ensuring a smooth and uninterrupted internet experience for all attendees.
